It’s been a little over a year since I first made a felt bird. And it was beyond time for me to make another. Well really a flock. It may be a small flock, but like nature they are a multiplying and I know there will be more to show you in the future. I especially love the yellow one and have a special project in mind for him/her.

Here are a few images. Notice the tiny one. I will definitely making more tiny ones!

Listening to the water dripping off a newly acquired freshly hand-washed sequined covered sweater from the good will I reflect upon the multitude of projects that was May. AND IT AIN’T OVER YET!

Tomorrow I start a “project” I paused a few eons back so as to retain my sanity. The only time in my life that I had gone over my limit, so I yielded a bit and smartly so. The universe dumped the opportunity back into my lap and I jumped at it. I am officially on my way to continuing my patternmaking education. More on that in the near future….

Now reflection. May has been jammed packed and isn’t holding back. SEWING: So I made two hand sewing samplers (examples of my work) and one button sampler, a zippered pouch, and altered two  jackets (sleeves). AND made a pair of ruffled panties all by hand, no sewing machine used. Below are some photos.

More reflecting. ATCs or Artist Trading Cards were a new topic I tried out. I was asked to co-teach an overnight art class. Yes it began at 11:15pm and I think we finally kicked the last person out at 1:30am! I got home at 3:00am and got back up at 7:30am! But I digress… For excellent work was made and fun was had! Here are some samples I made and two class shots. Look at them, they are way into it.

And that was some of what I have been up to besides the other May posts already written! Time to go make some more art!

Another birthday another reason to make a card. Since my shirt card was a big hit, I thought I would do it again. This time for a female. Hopefully she likes it. Since I am mailing it I will have to wait to hear. Did I tell you the foundation of the card is just one letter size piece of paper I fold? It is awesome. Again I sewed on some buttons and a tag inside. I also double tacked different color paper on the outside and wall paper remnant inside. I also attached a paper flower and hot glued a little flower to the outside. These things are so fun to make everyone may get a personalized one!

Birthday Card

For a birthday celebration I wanted to make a birthday card. This card was going to be for a male relative so I did some research for ideas. The following is what I came up with. I even sewed on buttons underneath the tie I made!

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day and once again I have made my mother a card. I used some embroidery floss I got from the art swap, bristol board, buttons, ribbon, sticky back felt, crafting papers, and Double Tack Mounting Film (which I bought today at Dick Blick).  I think it came out great. Especially since I did my usual free wheeling no plans, just winged it art!
